Overview

17 Rainwater HOGs were used by Tzannes Associates to remove all garden watering from the house mains water. To provide the clients an unimpeded view of the garden, the main grouping of 11 HOGs were installed horizontally between the joists of the new on-ground deck, allowing the captured roof water to be stored out of sight.

This main group of 11 HOGs was connected to a pump located down the side passage, adjacent to a second bank of 6 HOGs installed vertically. The narrow depth of the vertical HOGs means that access was still maintained down the narrow side passage between the dividing fence and house. When the laundry room is refurbished in phase two of the remodel, additional HOGS can be installed in the vertical HOG grouping to increase the water storage capacity for indoor use in laundry and toilet flush.
